washers still not working . got power down to motor but wont
go . do i have to get a new bottel or can you take the motor of
if i need a new one as any body in the club got one for sale .

Plenty of posts on this subject mate - so you're not alone

Do you hear the washer motor/pump working?
(I know you say you get power to it, but you should hear something when you use the stalk)
If not - change the pump out (it can be removed from the washer bottle)
If you do hear noise, then maybe you have blocked jets or the tubes have popped off?
We replaced our pump - works a treat now.

undo the two or three ten mm nuts holding the tank to the body, the pump will lever up out of the bottle.

i got my pump second hand from http://www.syncrospares.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as new ones have different wiring plugs.........

Yes, we got a new one and they had indeed changed the locations of the electrical connections (why do they do that?)
We bought a few spade connectors and chocolate block to connect it up - but its done now and works fine.

VW probubly didn't, is it a genuine part? Motorfactors like GSF and the like are good at providing equivelent parts that fit but don't have the same conectors as genuine. Strangely the windscreen pump seems to be a T3 spacific part so maybe parts dealers only bother to sell golf pumps which I'm sure fit in the tank, but have different plugs?

Have you tested your old motor direct off the battery? Sometimes bad swtches can get 12v to a digital multimeter but don't provide the current to run a pump, which is rather power hungry, so the switch/wireing seems good when its not - In some cases a 21W indicator bulb can tell you more than a multimeter.

Get a GSF one and just make yourself a short adaptor loom.

Like Mr Hulley says - thats what we did. GSF and adapted.

Get one in anyway for your spares box. Its probably sticking/gunked up and may fail again (probably when you need it most)
