swing-out step and wheel step

Post by syncropatrick »

Wotcha,

Me knees are killing me, all the climbing in an' out of the sliding door on my van (a high ride Syncro), and I nearly broke my ankle the other day clambering around on the cab step to get to the Westfalia front roofrack. Don't like injuries to my lower limbs, had enough in the past and gives me the collies thinking about it.

Has anyone experience of swing-out steps which fit under the sliding door and automagically swing out when the slider opens? Can't find a piccy but I think some ambulances have them.

Also, a wheel step to pop over a front wheel when needed? Like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MALONE-M ... ccessories

cheers
Patrick.

the swing out step for the slider was a factory option , you screw a plate to the sliding door which pushes a latch as the door opens or closes.

as a complete assembly they just bolt to the van chassis. vey sturdy , but also quite rare. you should expect to pay £100 + if you can find one!

they are handed so you need either a lhd or rhd depending on your van.
