YET ANOTHER SLIDING DOOR ISSUE

Post by pureorange »

Do any peeps out there know the bearing sizes on the bottom sliding door bracket (TYPE 25) My top bearing of the two has gone awol, hence door drop off syndrome.I figure replacing the bearings is more cost effective than buying s/hand ,Mega bug want £35 for s/hand brackets. Are there any other options.

Put up a post for the bracket/bearings you are in need of in 'WANTED' section,,,,,rather than pay over the odds...

PS, it would help if you explained exactly which bearings you are wanting ?

Type25 sliding door has a top nylon block, center backet and bottom bracket which carries the weight of the door. The bottom bracket bearings (2 off) takes lots of stick, fortunately you can pick them up at any bearing specialist.I paid £12 for the two, cheaper than buying a second hand bracket. The door now runs smoother than Todd Carty on ice.

the bottom bearing is a special vw only thing, as it runs at an angle, they wear the shaped outer case, they wear the runner track, the bearing wears,
buy genuine, don't carp about the price it'll last 20 years and do what it says on the tin and be nice to open and close
sure you may find a good one second hand but ime it's not very common
The guide bearings are standard sizes, but skf version not much cheaper than genuine, and why use chinese rubbish just to save a few quid
