Hello, Ive got a problems with the sliding door. When its closed the back of the door sticks out. Rain water can get in. Are these easy to fix. Can they be adjusted in anyway? I can not see how to do it. Any help would be good.
Ive got a list as long as my arm things to fix on my Whitestar. Rev counter not working, Due to wrong alternater. Central locking not working. Electric mirrors not working, its had a new switch from VW! and Front heater/blower not working? Iam in Southen-on-sea, Essex and am on the lookout for someone who has the nack working on these motors. I probably need a auto electrician to sort out most of the parts. But the sliding door is a security issue.
Cheers

Try Karmann Konection 6 granger road tel 601155 I rang them when I broke down down there. They gave me numbers for people and advice. They also supply parts. Might not be cheap but it costs nothing to ask. Id give you a hand but your to far away
Mine won't close in cold weather. Discovered that the grease on the latch slows up the action of the catch when its cold so if i close it slowly and wait for catch to spring in, it shuts fine. Had exactly the same prob on a Bedford Midi. Make sure its not that first. Dose of WD40 helps for a short while.

Don't want to hi-jack this thread but I'm having an issue with my sliding door.... over the last few months (don't know whether it's weather related) the sliding door has become progressively more difficlut to open. I hear the click of the handle releasing the mechanism but the door doesn't pop open.... well not for anything from 30secs to a minute when all of a sudden it releases with another click! It's doing my head in now as it's got to the point where I'm not even using the door as it's such a faff! Any suggestions? Have tried WD40ing every moving part on the door and seals but it's doesn't seem to help?
hey...they can certainly be adjusted! PM vwcamperfan.....he did mine! From having to slam it a good 2or 3 times to shut the thing, and it sticking out, it now glides shut, and opens easily!
IIRC its to do with the latch on the front locating properly - in my case it was the one on the pillar - and the back of the door is adjusted by releasing the big screws with an allan key and moving it all around. Mark will know better than I! I was just watching.....
