...that blue one has the double glazed windows and a buddy seat behind the front passenger seat too..... (the 1980 Aircooled orange/browny one does not appear to have either of these............ and might not have the front seats with armrests either, which the blue one does have)...........

...and there is another cheapy westfalia in Birmingham too..... high-top one this time...........

...and on volkszone I think there is another Aircooled westy (hightop) ...that appears to be an early van with a later interior............ cannot find it at the mo though...but it is up NORTH somewhere............

Biggest issue with blue one is it appears to have rusted out seam between rocker panel and side panel behind galley cabinet. Not uncommon, but can be expensive to fix. You might want to pull galley out for a closer look... and pulling galley isn't easy with gas, water, waste, electric, etc to disconnect. £3000 isn't cheap is rust to be sorted.

Thanks Lloyd, they haven't got back to me after I asked to view next Saturday anyway.

Am getting a bit dispirited about my search :(

Think either my spec (ie: westy) or budget have to be compromised.

Ho hum...........

Don't let it get you down. Nicky spent 5 months before I started looking too. We both looked for 4 months before by chance finding out another member here on forum was selling there camper and we bought it.. 350 miles from home. If it hadn't been a club member and many other members saying it was a good van, we would have never gone that far to get it.
They are out there and sooner or later you will find one. :ok

I always find the best ones turn up just round the corner from where you live, I spent ages lookin gon line for a camper, and just as I was about to give up for a while, I decided to check auto trader, and I found mine 8 miles from home and at a reasonable price. Keep looking one will turn up, and as the weather gets better more and more will star to appear for sale
