Sliding door pullrod broken

Post by NeilC »

Hi all,

Had trouble opening the sliding door a couple of weeks ago and removed the inner panel to discover the pullrod was in two bits. I've tried screwing them back together but they pop apart whenever I shut the door. It seems like the threaded end of the right hand bit of the rod has snapped.

Any ideas where I might pick up a replacement rod, short of getting a new door for spares?

Take the knackered part of the rod out and run a die down it to extend the thread about 1/4 ", then refit and adjust the connecting sleeve nut so it screws onto the new thread more than the other threaded rod, may get you round the problem.
Keep it real.
