OK, had a search and a look through the wiki but no luck... I want to buy a new head unit for the bus and I'm aware that depth is critical when choosing a unit.
Does anyone know the maximum depth allowed? I know you can get spacers, but don't really want that if possible. Failing that, can anyone suggest models of head unit that fit?
Cheers.

I fitted a few in my van over the years and if you get your hand in where the ashtray goes you can move the wires about and get most units to fit its a bit of a squeeze but can be done!

indeed you can fit what you want with simons spacer.
I fitted a Pioneer DEH MP30.
which would have gone in without a spacer.
However a special wiring and ariel connector would have to be fitted, also the rear aux-in 3mm jack required more room.
it was easier to fit a 10 mm spacer

Blaupunkt San Remo fits without spacer not a top end unit but plays mp3 and I can still hear it at 70mph
