You can fix four metal tie down loops to the side of the pop top. I have a 1983 leisuredrive which has a pop top instead of hard top but has a similar roof rack on the back, and is equiped with these tie downs, which work just fine.

how do you keep stuff in place up there ?
you have to fit some eyes to use the bungie.
Screws would soon pull out, so use bolts with a penny washer to spread the load.
