Retro fitting Cruise Control / Throttle Lock

Post by Willoughby »

Hi

Just wondering it anyone has retro fitted a Throttle Lock or Cruise Control to a T25.

I have a 81 2ltr CU and was thinking of fitting an Eagle Talon Throttle Lock.

If the blurb on the web is for real think it could be for me.

I fitted a MagicSpeed MS50 bought from Conrad Anderson. Fitted it myself ok. All you need is a bit of patience and don't rush it. Best thing i've bought for the van.

Don't bother with a throttle lock! As soon as you hit the slightest slope you will slow down.

I have an Eagle Talon fitted in my T25 with 2l CU engine. It works fine on reasonably flat stretches of motorway, but as said previously, the van decelarates massively when you hit a hill. I find myself pre-empting the hill and stamping on the accelerator just before reaching it, to keep the speed up. As it was on there when i bought it, i use it, but i am not sure that i would bother getting one fitted.

Thanks Guys

Im used to the hill thing, I also I find myself pre-empting the hill and swapping over from LPG to Petrol then stamping on the accelerator.

I think we need to get together and make a tomtom file that gives us plenty of warning of big hill.
