Long choke cables?
Another issue with my V8 conversion. It has a manual choke. Where on earth do I find a cable long enough? Best I can find so far is 11 feet, which I reckon is about 4 feet short. Any ideas?

lol - I did exactly that when I fitted a bored-up beetle lump in a T25. Some traditional bicycle shops can also provide it on a reel - plenty thick enough. Marine shops certainly stock it.

Local cycle shop could do the inner, but 2m was the best they could do in outer. I'll have to look up a chandler then.

Re: Long choke cables?
Try getting the cold start cable off a diesel, should be long enough and mount nicely under dash. Other option would be to use one of them generic central locking motors from Maplin to do it electicly, but it'll be more like on or off then.

Good old fleabay gives top quality teleflex up to 10 metres:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TELEFLEX-MORSE-33 ... dZViewItem" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or lesser quality from 5 foot to 22 foot:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamaha-22-ft-671c ... dZViewItem" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
both more than man enough for the job.

Re: Long choke cables?
Thanks for the suggestions. The diesel coldstart would be ideal if I could find one (someone on the V8 forum came up with that first), but while seeking one of those I found that an Aircooled heater cable is also about the right length and I could adapt one.

Electric boot popper off ebay. They come with a cable that will operate the choke. You just press a button on the dash to operate.
