Push Rod Cover Plate

Post by AngeloEvs »

Need to confirm where the source of this coolant drip is but the pushrod tinware is stopping me from examining the head water jacket seal along its lower edge, no signs of a leak along the top or the sides so thinking of removing the cover plate. Problem is the tinware is secured to the manifold and the nuts are not going to budge (despite heating them up!) so thinking of cutting through the brackets, making new ones and spot welding after wards but that means running the van without the pushrod cover tinware for a few weeks. Is this a wise move?

K-Seal: I have been advised to use this as a temporary measure but me thinks I will have a rather mixed set of opinions about it use in the VW. A couple of T25 owners have used it and tell me it worked for them.

i didn`t know about the tinware till someone on here mentioned it , so am making my own -- but have done 87000 miles without , so far ; no probs .
i (myself , alone )bent a pushrod cover a bit when trying to remove the exhaust , but it seems ok.
