Poor starting on Tesco Desiel! Coinsidence?

Round here I have the choice of Morrisons, Somerfield which is flogas, motorway services think its BP and Texaco

If you look supermarket deisel is city(low sulper) and we were told it is dryer. Also you ve got veg oil in it. Back in the early nineties I was a naughty boy red 40 mpg, shell 44 mpg esso 48 mpg I know things have changed but supermarkets have had trouble with the quality of there fuel before.

has anyone noticed a drop in mpg since the prices fell,i have lost around 5 mpg in the megane since the weather turned cold..dunno if cold diesel runs at lower mpg's tho than say 10 degrees and up and a few less mpg since the price fell.i did a full service on the car but its still the same....BUT....we do go where the prices are lowest.i might try the esso stuff and see if it goes back up ,if not ill be taking it to the garage

There will always be a difference in the amount of fuel you consume in the winter - you are using your heaters more lights more etc it will make a difference.
Then if your running an MTDI like me that will make a difference because it takes ages for it to get up to running temperature, but then we're still getting over 30mpg (on Esso fuel) so not grumbling.
