Not strictly T25 related, but for an 86 Polo Coupe, so the alternators are Bosch's for both
The red dash light is staying on all the time, checked belt tension OK , the 'little' wire on the alternator seems OK, cleaned it up any how and copper eased the nut. Light still stays on ,
is it more likely to be the brushes or the regulator ?
And can you test the regulator ?
Or is there a failure in the coils ?
What is the series of checks/tests that will pinpoint the problem?
Cheers
Mike

Re: Alternator Probs
Could be the brushes worn out, the brush pack is held in by 2 screws ... don't know how much they are s/h though.

Re: Alternator Probs
Thought it might be the regulator, had one go once on first Polo 1987 !
This one has sat and been used irregularly
Will try the regulator always worth having a spare around
Cheers
