Sliding door plastic bit

Post by el sketcho »

My O/S sliding door makes a clunking sound when closing. I took the cover off on both sides and the O/s one is missing this part

Does anyone know where I can get one? I got the part number of the vag website (251843872A), but talking to my local vw dealer they told me in was £35+vat! He didn't have a picture of the part on his computer and told me if they ordered it I couldn't bring it back if it's the wrong part.

Thanks

Andy

thats a very good clear picture, but i fear it is too close up , have you a zoomed out one?
coz to me it looks like vw are trying to charge you £35 for a lump of silicone .

That part number is for the sliding door channel. A better picture would help.

Right here's another

It's like a rubber insert bit to stop the door clunking when you close it

Can't help with the part but how did you get the metal cover off to reveal the slide etc? Does it just pull off? My door's getting a bit stiff and I want to have a decent look at it which the cover prevents.

Undo the two screws (one at either end, look up inside) and then gently tap the lower lip of the panel upward with a rubber mallet.
