Both Mick's amazed that it was running at all...and even more gobsmacked when we said that we hadn't had the dizzy off in the 3.5 years we have had her!!gas service done (filter changed, valves checked and system set up)
Dizzy removed (was 180 degrees out), shims fitted and dizzy replaced
Couple and bit hours.
Total charge £40!
Hopefully, with the shim on the damage done to the engine block by the distributor will not be noticeable, as the shim is wider than the hole the dizzy has made
Oh, and had a play with the laser thermometer...... 96 at the block behind fuel pump, 76 ish on the manifold, 46 at the thermostat housing and 24 ish at the rad!! Hottest was front right as you look at it where exhaust header is as the oil is hottest there apparently and you have the exhaust too! Was around the 100 mark there.
IF anyone knows where I can get a accelerator pump diapragm I would be greatful...1990 2.1 running 1.9 carb. Apparently its letting by a little.
