Panel clips

Post by orangebooboobearcrew »

Hello,

Took delivery of JK interior panels for back sides, along with clips for fitting these.

After spending 5 hours lining these panels last night and being chuffed tob its with how they turned out, we were full of excitement ready for fitting them this morning.

However, this excitement didn't last long as when I offered them up I found that the panels are a really poor fit and that the clips don't hold!Having checked the VW drilled holes, these are 8mm but the clips are only very slightly bigger and won't hold anything. I've now got to remove the carpet, trim the panels to size, then get some clips that fit properly. :x

Having now read similar comments on the forum (hindsight is a wonderful thing!) I see that comments have been put up that VW still make these. Can I just go to a VW dealer and ask for panel clips or would I need the part code? If so, does anyone know what this might be please? Alternatively, can I get these from somewhere else? Saw another post suggesting Halfords does these.... :?

As for JK, that is the last thing I will buy from the now. I have had loads of crap products from them, including drivers doors bottoms that don't fit, a rear side window seal that was never going to fit our panel van despite it being specified as such, front and rear screen rubbers that were a really bad fit and now this latest episode! They will be getting a round of f*@ks in the morning I can assure you!!!

Rant over for now - from Mr Mad, residing at Mad Street, Madtown :x
