Fuel Gauge????? any ideas
So before I start removing petrol tanks etc. to sort out the sender, I was just wondering if there is any other reason the fuel gauge has stopped working in my van also don't know if its related but the high beam led has stopped working. I just thought everybody loved my bus and that was why they were flashing.

if in doubt use a bigger hammer, if that fails swear louder and longer

the high beam indecation is controlled by the o/s headlight, so check that is working also.
it could be the LED at fault, or it could be the PCB on the clock assy.... try giving the 14pin multiplug on the dash assy a "wiggle" , its just above your knee when sitting in the driver seat.
the fuel gauge may be caused by the same, its worth looking at before dropping the tank

mine does it sometimes. if its like mine its a bad earth, look behind the fuse box and rub down the contacts on the earthing points. There are a few just be carefull not to pull on any of the other wires to hard.

Early models the earth for the fuel sender goes to the front chassis crossmember.
