Wattabugger!
The other day I bid on a complete Weber Alpha injection system with interface and disc. I thought it would go crazy, being they cost 1700 quid. Got home late last night and it had finished... £205. Throttle bodies and the bleedin' lot.

That's the problem with auctions, you can't always be at a PC when the auctions ending. Frustrating I know.

^^i do exactly the same as Rob^^it's very easy to overbid if you get carried away.on ebay,i set myself a price and only bid when there is 5 seconds left!

Re: Wattabugger!
No worries. I bought a DMTL carb with auto choke. Brand new £25 with conversion bits for 2E. I just wanted to play with the injection.

Re: Wattabugger!
Funny enough Rob thats how I got my Caravelle. Bidding in last half hour was around £300 and most I could manage was £650 so put that in with 30 seconds to go. Got it for £385 - Never looked back.

blimey , you lot need to get with the times!
http://www.ezsniper.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It works well and costs just pennies.
It throws in your max bid (or as much as it takes to win auction up to your max) with seconds to spare.......so you dont have to start a bidding war and so raise the price.
Of course , also means you dont have to be by your computer.

Think it then comes down to who put in the highest max bid.
Not sure what happens if 20 bids go in , through one of the snipe sites, at the same time though
All i know is , that you usually 'win' the item , so long as your max bid was enough.
The really good thing as far as i am concerned , is that you dont have to actually watch the auction end. Its always so tempting to throw in another bid at the end when you have just been out bid and buy something for more than you wanted to.......or is that jsut me!!

I'm with Rob and Quagmire, stick in your highest bid and leave to run.

Re: Wattabugger!
If it finishes at a sensible time then I go 'highest amount' less a fiver and then throw that in the ring at the last second .... of course if it closes at stupid o'clock then I do as Rob and quagmire say's.

I don't like sniping, not really cricket, a seven day auction and no activity for six days
and then it all happens in the last five minutes, waste of time!
My camper was an off ebay, LHD ebay bargain, I rang the seller up and made a cash offer
I was in Finland and the van was in England, he took it to my Mum's and she paid cash.
Best way to be sure (imho)

John, think of it as a 6 day viewing period, you get 6 days to find it, ask questions and possibly view and on the 7th day bid for it.
