Transporter specialists Wales

Post by albertramsbottom »

Hi

Does anyone know of any good VW Transporter (camper), specialists in Wales. I am thinking of having a service and my timing done and maybe a Carb refurbishment such as the ones that Gasure do. However, as i live in West Wales Gasure is a little to far away.

Thanks

You'll have to bring it for the carbs anyway so you might as well have the lot done.

Hi

The trip to Gasure will save you loads in the long run. It's over 500 miles round trip for me to Steve and back but wouldn't take it anywhere else.

I know where your coming from Steve but to have the carbs referbished, timing done and a service is propbably out of my price range at the moment. Having said that the would having the timing done be part of the carb referbisment?

Cheers

Basically, yes, if the timing is wrong then the carbs won't set right so yes is the answer to your question.

Service price depends on what it needs, service labour cost is 2.2 hours for one of these plus parts if that helps.

If money is tight do the best you can, oil is very important in these so put the best mineral oil in you can afford, we use Fusch HD and keep it changed at least every 6000 miles, better if this is halved and don't use crap filters, either go genuine or Mann

you will waste more money in the long run with it being uneconomical and a pig to drive, bite the bullet and get it these, steve is a whizz on these motors and a genuine chap who helped me no end with my Aircooled wedge.

not many people at all (including some so called speciallists) understand the correct way to set up your motor. your local crypton man wont!!!

take it there and you wont be dissapointed. its not far from you really!!!
