Spot light blown fuse question.

Post by jed the spread »

The fuse for the spotlights on my bumper blows. Its not the fuse in the fuse box but the Aux fuse that i guess came with the lights. The relay is triggered by the full beam operation. I have a set of fog lights that are fitted next to the spots and the fuse had gone on this too but i changed that and they work fine now but the spots just keep blowing. I changed the relay for one with a fuse built on the side of it and the aux fuse still blows but the one on the relay doesn't and when i ran separate switch wire to the relay with the fuse built on it the spots come on and don't blow the fuse on the side of the relay. Maybe i should just run a new switch wire

its probable something really obvious but its well cold outside and Ive just come in for a tea and a think in the warm.

check the earth connections.
is the fuse big enough for what you are running?
are the fuses cheap tat ones?
i have had cheap and nasty fuses that blow way before they should.
