engine to box fitment

i'm asking this on behalf of my dad.
he wants to replace the 1600ct and fit a 2lt, will the gearbox fit the 2lt?
i am sorry if this is answered in the wiki but had a look and cant see anything

Yes it will bolt straight on, however you will find that hte 1600 geabox is geared higher and you will be revving approximately 600rpm higher on the 1600 box against the 2.0 box. I used to drop a 1600 box in my 2.0 if we were going over the Alps, it helped with climbing as you could keep the rpm a little higher to get up some of those steep climbs.
Get a DK code box if you can.
