Broken Diff lock knob

Hi all,

I've stupidly managed to pull the front diff lock knob on my syncro a bit too hard and its come right off the lever and the thread's stripped out :( Any ideas what i could do or where i could get a new one?

You may find that only VW dealers authorised for commercial vehicles will sell parts for T25's. Just phone around.

Great, thanks..I'll be on the look out.

OK, in keeping with the thread its probably a good idea to ask how to exactly to engage the front lock... I remember being told you need to twist and turn the lever then drive straight until it engages and the light turns on, am i right? i cant remember :roll:

It's the same knob as Golf II Diesel had for the choke.

Same on LT, saw one on T'Onions the other week. Aparently you can get them on beatle heater switches too. Some sereous parts bin raiding been going on at VW!

Thanks for the info. I've just been looking online but nothing's coming up for "golf II diesel choke control knob".. any idea where to look? cheers

new in stock here, they are a beetle part originally, if the front one strips try swapping them over, the front with idiot lock uses less thread than the rear one so the undamaged bit of one will engage with the other, but be prepared to find that they have already been swapped and one is stuffed both ways now.

i followed someone's advice on thesamba.com and filled the hole in with epoxy repair then drilled another hole and thread in it.. works fine now :rollin
