BenT on syncrolist wrote: Go to tirerack.com and ask for wheels for a 1999 Mercedes C230. Once you get to that page, click the link at the bottom for "steel" rims. The size is 16x7 at ET37. Centerbore is 66.7mm so no other modifications needed to use on your Syncro.
Wonder if these are any stronger than the 15" Merc steels... they don't seem to need adapters or spacers
Most current C class seem to weigh around 1500-1600kg ish unladen (acording to net) so are pritty simular to an unladen syncro. Anyone know the gross weight of them (thats not written)? Doubt it'll be a tonne over unladen but you never know. Shouldn't the wheels have the load rating written on them?
The steel wheels fitted to W126 S Class Mercedes (1985 - 1991) are a 7 x 15 ET 25 and a much more substansial looking wheel than other Merc steel wheels and as standard take a 205/65/15 tyre which would give the correct speedo gearing. The centre bore will also suit as it measures 67mm.
To think I had one of these sitting in the back of the Merc for the 2 years Ive owned it and never thought of checking .........
