How big is yours?

Post by Jonni »

Leisure battery that is!

I'm about to purchase one, but not sure what amp/hour will do the trick. I only want to power lights and CD off it. Thing is I've found one that will fit in the space behind passenger seat, but it's only a 40 amp/hour. Is it worth me getting it?

Its always a bit of a how long is a piece of string question this. there are so many variables like how long you will have said lights/ cd on for and how long you intend to camp up without any electrickery or driving any distance to replace lost charge. As a guide though if you have 40 amp hour bat then you can supply 1amp for 40 hrs so if your total of lights and cd is say 4 amp
that will only give you 10 hours so if your lights/cd are on for 5 hrs a day you have 2 days use before the bat will need a recharge hopefully you get the jist.

I have found an 85 amphour leisure to be sufficient for lighting..DVD.. TV...propex...not on all at once of course.

my 14" tv runs the battery too low in 6hrs on the inverter
