Too be honest I cannot remember where I bought it but........ I have seen them in camping shops and in Millets with all the camping gadgets that really everyone thinks they need and buy but then never use.....except if you own a Westy then you do!!

I have a long list of Westy owners awaiting with baited breath and cash for these toasters!!!

I shall do some hunting for you lot ok.

German high safety testing standards and so they didn't put one in.........

or perhaps besause continentals dont use grills !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you wont fingd a grill on any continental motor home be it a Westfalia,Hymer,Knaus etc............

PS you can buy those toasters in almost any camping shop, get two, saves arguments over who gets the first slice, another useful addition is a double burner cast iron skillet[/list]

have seen that - still no bids 25 quid - not sure how it fits on

i have got an lpg adapter from gasure for my westy - i have screwed it on for the first time tonight and it doesn't look like it is going to work.

Anyone else got a german import westy with an ACME thread?

i checked the gasure web site and it says they are withdrawn from sale?

i think steve gasure is on holiday at the moment so i thought i would ask on here

Westy Underfloor LPG Tank

Post by Scruffy »

I've got a German Westy import (1989 1.6TD). I bought the simple 'visitors' adaptor because it was cheaper and have found it increadably difficult to fill on the forecourt. Last time I did it I managed to let out so much gas I came over all funny!

I'm going away to France soon. Can someone tell me which adaptor I need to fill up there?

(Is asking my own question on someone elses thread, even if it is on the same subject, bad etiquette? If so, sorry.)

Dave

The gas cover is plastic,Guenzl has them now and again but very expensive, I used a bit of aluminium chequer plate folded into a U and ends added ,attached to the original frame/hinge

Filler adaptors can be bought from TB turbo in Lancaster, screw on to the DIN/ACME fitting ,converting it to UK bayonet,Ive used one of these for the last four years without any problem or leaks when filling. A French Italian Cup fitting is useful on the continent, but if you fill up before leaving should have enough for two to three weeks

I have the Westy with ACME thread, got the adaptor from Gasure and it filled fine and dandy first time. No leaks, just the last pfffff from the bit in the pipe when you release the filler at the end of filling.

Hi Fellas, got a Californian import Westy with underslung gas tank - how do you identify the ACME thread please.
I am also without a shiney cover so any fabricator would have another customer.
