oil leak

: :( (got a oil leak from the lh rear piston, its not pissing out but its on the metal plate that bolts onto the h/ex, is there an easy fix? p.s i've never worked on this type of engine! i'm based in cov. :)

I'm in Cov too. Could come and take a look if you like:) Could just be a pushrod tube developed a pinhole or the seal gone on one end of one. If it has its better to renew all gaskets and seals really but on a budget you could just pull the head that side and renew the pushrod tube seals. If its done a LOT of miles it may just be symptomatic of an engine getting tired.

Anyway Chickenkoop - its useful to forge contacts in Cov. Quite a few of us here ya know:)

You don't need to remove the head to renew the pushrod tube seals - just the rockers.

I drove over and had a look for him. Just looks like it needs a few gaskets here and there and have volunteered to get him sorted. Its an Aircooled twin carb setup so not the nicest thing to tune. If anyone has a single carb setup and inlet port that would suit ChickenKoop let him know - save a lot of grief.
