temperature guage
Our recently acquired 2.1 petrol T25 is great but as usual with a new vehicle I'm just ironing out the odd few bits and pieces and sorting out small problems. The temperature guage hardly moves. just up to the tip of the white section on the guage. Is this usual? Everything seems to be warming up properlyso I'm assuming that the thermostat is opening OK.

I think every member has posted a 'is my temp guage reading OK'
Mine reads just above the white area.
My first bus read bang on 1/2.
On the DJ there is a temp sender for the electronic ignition and one for the temp guage. They have different resistances and sometimes a bad inexperienced mechanic can swap them over.
As long as the reading is steady I wouldnt worry.
Does the guage rise if you idle the engine for 5mins or so on a warm day? Does your rad fan come on?

I have just run the engine on idle for fifteen minutes. The temperature guage has barely lifted off the bottom. I'm assuming that the thermostat housing is the black unit with one of the main pipes running from the front into the back of it.It did not seem to warmup and neither did the main pipe going into it. The cooling fan did not come on at any point. I'm suspecting the thermostat. Would you agree or is there something else I should be looking at.?
