Is the aaz engine always with a cable/mechanical pump or are later one fly-by-wire? If so, when did they go non-cable approx?

AAZ is ,was always cable.TDI is fly by wire eg. AHU.1Z,AFN etc.All these engines overlaped in years from(for some)1993 on.
