Sliding door question

Post by Miss Marple »

Morning everyone! I'm a bit confused. On our sliding door, at the top, there is a piece missing where it runs along the track (there is just a metal 'pin'). Having looked at other vans, some have a metal wheel, and others have a square nylon block. I've spoken to just campers and got their brochure, but I'm still none the wiser as to which I should buy. Our's is a 1985 model if this is relevant. Any ideas would be much appreciated. :)

changeover is from chassis E 175000 (built before aug 84), nylon block before, roller after. Nylon block now obsolete from VW.

Miss Marple.
It looks like yours has a ball on the end, which I think means it is the nylon block type.
I got my replacement for a fiver (rip off ). but I have been known 2b a lazy B*****d.
Definitely obselete from JK's and as previously said probably VW as well, although not sure..........
Try cord wallis VW comercial, if not keep an eye on ebay thats where I sourced mine.
by the way it's the early type.............( If I am correct).

Okay, back to confused again! It does have a ball on the top, so metal roller or nylon block??? If it is a metal roller, how would it fit onto the ball? I'm guessing the nylon block would just push on.

Yes just pushes on, might be a good idea to put it in some hot water first ,this will expand it slightly as they become brittle with age and crack in half.
yes thats why I needed a new one.
