Someone pi$$ed in my fuel tank - will it damage engine?

Post by stevewright76 »

:x

I run on LPG but if/when i have to switch can urine in a petrol tank damage the engine?

Yes - it's true, a group of the students from the rugby team at lancaster uni took it upon themselves to poke fun at my van for being 'hippy' I went to fend off the guy looking in the van - leaving two of his mates the other side, one of whom pissed on my van - or so i thought till i noticed my petrol cap missing leading me to conclude that they pi$$ed in the tank

Have fioled criminal damage complaint with police / uni security and am now making complaints via union - am running on LPG still, but worried about possible effect when i switch to petrol...

I'd say you need to drain the tank and syphon off the good fuel.
(pressuming the pee will float)
OR
Drain the tank and pour the whole lot over the B****d, then offer him a light.

Floating?

Post by stevewright76 »

Always figured that petrol floats on water... Does that apply in a tank or do they get mixed up by movement etc.

Tank not full and only reserve fuel - but def up for the human torch approach...

I had water in my tank too and find that it doesn't easily combust in the waterboxer engine :D
I too have gas and ran the engine with the pump disconnected from the carb and drained it that way pulled out two liters of water.
It had settled in the carb too so that had to be cleaned.

i bet it smells like the queue in the post office. drain off the fuel/pish mixture, kidnap said rugby gimp, take him (in your hippy bus) into the forest, tie him to a tree, play him heavy metal for 9 hours, torture him then fry him, with his own pish mixture. happy days!!

I wouldn't recomend any of that except the fuel draining. If it's not that much then just put it in an old oil can or something and leave it at your local tip.

You've already informed all the relevant people, now chalk it up to experience. Get a locking petrol cap. Don't take it as any kind of reflection on you or your van, they are the arses. Enjoy owning a vehicle most folk lack the imagination to understand.

to be serious, its criminal damage. you are going to be out of pocket for theyre actions, not to mention the cost of your leisure time. if you know a mechanic get him to give you an inflated cost estimate, take him to court for that cost. dear me, you might have damaged your engine and a (brand new one) may be needed. ouch.

Rugby asbos

Post by stevewright76 »

Thanks for all the messages - locking petrol cap arrived today (I do learn) the whole rugby squad have bleached their hair so easily identifiable (the to$$ers were rugby squad) but impossible to tell who (err, he was bleach blonde, big bloke, looked thick as pig$hit - d'oh that's ALL of them)

Am getting tank drained, figure he prob missed tank in fact but not worth the risk.

Have filed ciriminal damage report and taken it up with sports union - but seems not a lot will get done... however continue to pursue, and look out for culprit to make gimp of him.

I have a mate with a bay window who says thats what you get for having a low fuel filler!! :D But he is also a mechanic and after I'd finished slapping him  said you must drain the tank. Nick.
