I've recently changed my mechanical fuel pump to a Facet electrical. I removed the old mech one and fitted a blanking plate to the block.
I saw this thread on JK tech and wonder if this is something that should concern me - ie the oil pressure issue - does it apply to CU engines or is it just for earlier types? I have an oil pressure gauge and it seems to be showing normal, good readings. Any experience? Steve Shaw converts to electrical when he LPGs vans - what does he do with the mech pump?

not sure about cu's ( Seen lots with leccy pumps), but dg will run forever without a petrol pump, i ran for 18 months without even owning a petrol pump......and DJ's dont have a mech pump, just the blanking plate.

Keith you do worry about the strangest things, how do you think a fuel pump thats an ancillary to the engine will affect oil pressure, my CU has had a blanking plate on it for over 10 years, I've actually owned the bus for nearly 14 years now, just blank it off and make sure it doesn't leak.

Yeah that's what I thought - it didn't make sense to me either, honest! Thanks for the reassurance.
I must have too much time on my hands reading other forums more than is good for me...
I forgot to insert the JK thread reference which may explain a bit more:http://www.justkampers.co.uk/interactiv ... adid=84707
