If your van started out it's life as anything other than a panel van, it will have mounting points in place already for 3 point belts - you can see them through the side vents at the rear. Any 2wd van can easily have belts fitted, in a panelvan Syncro it's harder to fit the mounting points for the lower fastenings as the fuel tank is directly below the rear seat. Conversions with a rear wardrobe make it difficult, yet not impossible, to have two rear 3 point belts.

Just done that
Just converted one of my lap-belts on the R&R seat to a 3 point. I bought the 3 point kit from Just Kampers and the extension as well. I found that the 3 point kit was so long that I didn't need the extension and I returned it for a refund. The kit took about an hour to fit. Used the two lower mounting that the lap belt used (labelled A on the picture below), the upper mounting (B) for the slidey pivot point and a predrilled hole behind the card (C) for the retractor reel/anchor. Had to cut a slot in the card.

Seat belts for panel van
Hi along the same inquiry, my van was originally a panel van, it's been converted to a camper with a rock n roll bed. I also need to fit child safety seat. Any idea where I can get seat belts fitted?
I live in Coventry in the Midlands.

Give Mercdoctor Marcus a shout/PM/call, he's in Coventry but apparently very busy at the moment getting my van back on the road, he'll either be able to help or should be able to point you in the right direction......

Front bench seat with Isofix ???
[quote="kathyshack"]Graco do a seat that has a base which can be fitted using a lap belt too. similar to the isofix thing, but for older cars. I have one which i use in the middle seat up front and it works well.

I'm trying to find a way of carrying my 18 month old daughter in her safety seat (Maxi-Cosi Priorifix with the front bracing leg), positioned between driver and passenger.
Options I can see:
fitting Isofix mounts from seat belt anchor points...? This is my preferred option.
buying a bench seat with integral 3-point belt for middle seat (but from which donor? I've been told a Transit bench will fit - anybody know? Would a T4 or T5 bench slot straight in or what extra is needed?)
Thanks for all your help

I bought thte graco travel system when I had summer. Its a pram which also come with a car seat and a seat base. Its been amazing! and excellent value fo rmoney. You fit the base to your seat. and this stays there. (fits with both lap belt and 3 point) the car seat locks in place, and can also be lifed out and then fits into the pram dead handy!!
the base has an adjustable leg which fis against the floor or the vehicle, so i used it in a variety of different cars. fits the van fine.
this is the kind of thing:-

I must say that I am still usig the pram now for summer and she has turned 2. its been to countles festivals and has held up really well.
Once summer got too big for her graco seat, we bought the britax eclipse car seat. This can also be fitted with a lapbelt or a three point belt. We have it fitted in THE back of THE van with the lapbelt on the wardobe side, and alex uses THE 3 point belt at the other side.

I had to swap my son to a booster cushion this week as he had reached the age of 4. I know its not wholly related but may help someone else trying to work out where to place their child. I have him up front on the passenger seat - something you can do with vans. According to DVLA, you can have a child in the front in a proper seat (and that amounts to booster or child seat) if there is no adequate way of securing them in the back - converted vans often lack this.
