Which Fan Belt

Post by thegamwellsmythes »

We have a Jan 1985 1.9DG T25 and we want a spare fan belt to keep in the bus.

Does anyone know which one it is that we want?

JK have many different belts depending on Alternator amps and have belts described as V belts and Waterpump pulleys.

I really am as thick as pigs**t and don't know which one I need. I can always consult the Haynes but thought I'd ask the experts first.

Also does it matter if I buy the wrong one as an emergency just to get home or would that blow up or not charge the alternator or be too loose or whatever?

As usual in these matters any advice much appreciated. :?:

One that fits would be the dab, one that doesn't would be a chocolate teapot.

Get thee hence to GSF and provision yourself with one (or more?) appropriate to said lump!! They have a list you know?

Copied from the GSF website

13313 FAN BELT-10x1100 T25 1.9 Water Cooled (45/65A Alt.) 4/86 > 11/90 3.50 Add
13313 FAN BELT-10x1100 T25 1.9 Water Cooled (With 90A Alt.) 8/82 > 11/90 3.50 Add
13313 FAN BELT-10x1100 T25 2.1 Water Cooled 8/85 > 11/90 3.50 Add

As these all have the same reference, I assume they are the same belt and therefore OK for the different engines?

Easy life! Hadn't thought of GSF, always go straight to JK.

Thanks for the advice.
