Air box Query

When looking at the air box on my 1981 2lt Aircooled there seems to be a pipe missing (approx 3/4 inch in diameter at the back. I cannot see where it would lead if fitted to the box. The one at the front is present.

Any ideas or pictuers please

its a blank anyway, the isnt a hole in the middle of it iirc

its summat to do with the injection version of the CU they flogged in California I beleive.............
