high top or not? Who likes them and who doesn't?

as I am vertically challenged I figured that going for pop up wouldn't be that bad, getting used to small spaces with 3 kids in my mini!! maybe put a hightop on that!!

I have at the moment a pop top with solid sides, it's great, it doesn't rattle in the wind and does not leak, BUT I'm going for a high top, in fact just bought it. my lads are going to fit it for me, the reason being I'm getting old and the pop top is too heavy for me to put up. I've been told high tops use more fuel, but as I run on LPG I'm not that bothered, although I am a bit worried about crosswinds. Yes I agree pop tops look better. I'll let you know when I get my high top fitted what I think of it.

hi top are best !!!!!! more room, you can stand up straight, and you sleep up stairs. why have a bunglow when you can have a one bed detached house. and who said there ugle !!!!!!! just look at mine

I can stand up virtually straight in my tintop.......

I have a detatched bedroom and lounge area for when I take the kids camping, and my Holly has her own room at the front of the van

And I never said they were ugly, I just said that I seriously find pop tops more attractive than high tops .......

If you have young kids and are forever stood over them strapping them in then hi top is good (i'm 6'2'') I think my plan is to have two wedges, a panel van with a tin top for looks and the current hi-top camper for camping and ferrying kids about

I have just fitted my new high top today - looks a bit ugly on the outside but on the inside WOW!!!! really great lots of headroom, storage and a double bunk!!!
Was a bit hellish though cutting through the roof with angle grinder!!
I will have to update my pic now!!!

high top al the way,storage on the move bed ready and waiting, better weather reistance, moer practical, and tend not to leak so much, and look as cool as a poptop, in my opinion!!!

I love my high top, I keep looking at pop tops, but Doris is like a wee little dr who tardist, the amount of things you can store whilst on the move. plus fancy a kip on your travels, the beds always free, no moving stuff around coz its all up top... how fab.... UGLY ? nnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaa she's ace.

I agree with all of the above,BUT how the hell do you get the roof lining to stick properly.
I am pulling my hair out on this. It has been stuck up twice with Spray adhesive but come sunny weather it drops again.
Any suggestions???

calypso campers have suggested a glue, sorry can't remember the name , but it's good stuff, best done when hard top is not on van, they charge about a grand to line the roof!
