2.1 Carb options.

Ive tracked down a 2.1dj, its not in a van an some parts of the injection system have been taken so im looking at carb conversion options.

I know i could swap my 1.9dg carb an would need t3 manifolds for twin carbs (an some port matching) but that aside what would be good options to run a 2.1 on, i will probably port the heads an maybe switch rockers an cams but wont be a full race build an would like a mpg of around 20mpg or more if driven sensibly, (is that possible?)

P.s any guides on prices second hand?

we are running two 2.1 engines on 1.9 carbs - took manifold off old engine - no probs

Cheers emma, take it you mean your running a standard single carb and not 'carbs'?

Mocki, thanks but im really thinking carbs would just be a lot less hassel, had a injected fastback before, cost me a fortune in fault finding and then ended up having to convert it to carbs anzway!
I will bear it in mind though.

So has nobody got a 2.1 on twin carbs then or even know anyone who has done it, if not why?
