1.9 dg Engine conersion.

Post by ANDKAT »

Hi all,
I'm considering converting my 1.9dg and have been trolling through the post etc and it seems that the Subaru EJ22 is a pretty good choice for all round performance.
I have several questions that hopefully you all might be able to help with.
I apologise now if these have already been asked elsewhere

1. what car had the EJ22 in?
2.Is there a site or furum that tells you exactlyhow to do it?
3. What exactly do I need for a complete conversion?

This is still in the planning stage at present but I need an idea of time and costs so I can sweet talk the boss.(or buy her lots of wine)
Thanks for looking

I'm next down on the IOW for the festival (2 wkends time). PM me your number and provided the bus is running OK I'll give you a ride out in an EJ22 powered bus over that weekend.

The engine's out of a Legacy.

It's 'king amazing (just come back in from a drive).

I'm pretty interested in the answer to these questions too.

I might start collecting the parts now, looking to convert in the summer.

Ok, after trawling through Wiki (what an awesome resource!) I found this link.

http://www.rjes.com/html/t25_parts_list.html

It answers most of my questions.

I guess I'll be looking out for a 94 Legacy then... :D

What other Subarus had the EJ22 fitted?

Nope, it's pretty much the Legacy and that's it.

Plan your cooling system implant well - you're gonna need a lot of bits.
