Veg Oil conversion Kits

Post by Louey »

Right,

I went on my course a couple of weekends ago and I've gained some good knowledge, though not comprehensive before I get labelled the 'guru of grease'

How much would people be willing to pay to share a bit of my knowledge? The course cost me £125 plus £250 for some a conversion kit (which to be honest was bl00dy expensive!!) so I want to recoup my costs but not rip anyone off - and I don't think I can become a millionaire off this one

How does £50 sound - that is the main part of the kit and people source and buy their own fuel pipe, water pipes and a relay?? (only because I won't have the time to sort these out and they are the easy bits to buy). I'm also planning on editing the film I shot whilst on the course and this hopefully will be available as a DVD end of June for around the £10 mark - I need to add a few bits to the footage I've got to make it more complete and relevant to our vans.

The kit is universal for almost all non turbo and Turbo (not Tdi, Hdi, SDi, CDi) engines - old stylee indirect injection as opposed to modern direct injection) and YES, you can still use diesel.

The kit enable a diesel van to run off used or new vegetable oil (WVO or SVO) but also still allow the use of diesel without any need for switches or 2nd tanks - this is a one tank system.

How does it work?? Veg oil is a bit thicker than diesel so ideally it needs a bit of pre heating before it gets to the fuel pump. This kit uses am electric heating element to pre heat when the engine is cold and a heat exchanger that uses hot coolant from the heater when the enigne is up to temperature - The kit is very easy to fit and only takes about an hour to fit.

enough spouting from me - any comments, add them. Any questions, same thing. If I do get enough interest then kits will be available towards the end of June because I have my exams and a well deserved holiday to get on with :D

Let the frying begin 8)

Hi Louey
the world sometimes turns slowly so be patient
If I had a diesel I would be interested (and who knows what the future holds) but will keep the offer in mind as seems very fair
good luck

Maybe more of a guideline about what this about and how it all works Louey - what one would be getting for the investment, the tips and tricks and drawings and designs on offer... so giving an idea without the ideas?

I shall have to get myself busy then.

Diagrams, photos, Video editing - though nothing will materialise till late June now as I'm still studying and then holidaying. The holiday will be a good test of the kit in my van too.

I was trying to get a feeler and some repsonse before going any further.

Hi,if you put a kit together keep me in mind when you done it(list)please.would,nt mind a look befor i commit myself.
as i was going to buy one of the in line deisel heater(£15) on ebay,to warm fuel up befor it gets to filter , (these where from a guy who bought them in the states,he was also selling fuel filter heater that ?,(your wrap around the filter(£25)
what i intriged (hope spelt right)is useing water from heating system as well once engine is up and running"?nedd to no more,
Last, ley one your course did it mention anything about seals in your pump perrishing?due to the pressure they would be under useing S.V.O?only asking as this had happend on mine?could be with age of pump?or because of useing oil(thicker, even useing it mixed with deisel)would be greatfull if you could just reply to last question,as don,t want to have to fit new pump again, cheers steve.o
