Ours was replaced a few weeks ago but at the weekend our 1985 T25 dumped much of its brake/clutch fluid on the road and it seemed to be coming from the same place.
Is there something that can cause them to go? Could the clutch slave cylinder failing be a sign of something else?
I suppose it's more likely that we just had a dodgy part or the pipe(s) that lead to the cylinder have now failed.
Any suggestions much appreciated so I can make knowledgeable noises when I speak to the chap who'll hopefully fix it.

More seemingly inept VW un/related questions/statements will follow in due course.
Is the X shaft returning fully after the clutch is operated? The slave cylinder is pushed back by the counter-reaction of the clutch pressure plate.
Is the slave cylinder piston pumping itself out of the cylinder? (unlikely)
It seems highly unlikely it is the slave cylinder again if it's just been renewed, are you are sure the fluid is coming from that area?
Thoroughly examine the steel pipe that goes from the chassis flexi hose to the slave cylinder via the gearbox side. Also make sure the flexi hose itself is in good condition ie, no bulges or wet spots, do these checks whilst someone operates the clutch. It only needs to be a tiny fracture of the steel pipe to cause a problem ( usually fractures near the ends of the pipe where the fittings are) or it may be corroded.
CAUTION: Beware of fluid spraying in your eyes!

If you never have a route planned ...how can you ever be lost?
If it turns out to be the steel pipe to the slave cylinder you may have trouble getting one to replace it (heavy walled steel one I mean) unless you contact Simon at 'brickwerks', I believe he may carry replacements 'off the shelf'.
