Tickover Stabiliser checking?

Post by SteveW »

The engine is a 2.1 DJ

How do I check the tick over stabiliser?

It does vibrate when the ignition is on. What I have is a high tickover but if I remove the wires to the stabiliser when the engine is at tick over and replace them before the engine cuts the tick over is much lower. It will stay low untill the engine is turned off but when it is turned back on the tick over is high again?

Any Ideas :?

The T2 emp sender in the thrmostat housing and its wiring is a key part of this system. S check those wires for goo continuity and connection into the sender (water, lots of rain lately and it can definitely splash up there on the nearside through puddles)..

Also, have the rear o/s tail-light out and check the snorkel box for dryness and conenctions to the ISU control unit in there... obv. any earths you see should be checked or re-made using an electrical contact grease.
