to run a tv and light or even a travel kettle these are fine, two stroke are very noisy tho! other than that you are looking at the next size up around 2.4 kw and about £150, if you go for one of these get a diesel one cos you can run em on red, still noisy tho! good for telling when the kettle is boiled tho!!

I've just bought one of the £50.00 Wolf 720w (650w constant) generators
from Screwfix. They also do a £70.00 Wolf WP950 generator 720w (650w constant) which has a built in circuit breaker. I thought that if I was going to use it with my van then I wouldn't need the CB because there are some in the van. Both are 62dba @ 7 metres.
Apparently most of the small generators on the market (like the £50.00
S/Fix one) are all the same make with a different badge stuck on!
If I get mine running soon I'll post again - got to get the petrol & 2-stroke oil into it first.

The Kipors 'super- quiet' generators give out 75dba 7 metres, but
the Screwfix Wolf generators (@ £50 or £70) give out only 62dba 7 metres & yet people descibe them as noisy!

Hi lukegb, I've just been back to the Kipors website & by doing a search
using the model number I managed to get the info on- screen this time.
Your genny wasn't listed in the main advert for small/super quiet models,
that's why I couldn't find it before.

The KGE 1300TC runs at 54-59db/7m., so it is a bit quieter than the cheaper Wolf generators.

In my experiance its best to keep away from 2 stroke generators and go for a 4 stroke engine.
We used a 2 storke generator when I did enduro's it lasted about 15 hours
We have now got a 650 watt Honda which is really quite and we have had it about 4 years now and I brought it second hand.
No smoke or putalene smell from it either :D
