engine re-build co's

Post by wookey »

Hi,

I've just rung round for prices to do a bottom end rebuild on my 1600 td.

best quote so far is £300 that includes a rehone and rings but doesnt include a rebore, but im sure it dont need one.

Is This a good price. im doing the top end myself to save on cost a bit.

If not can anyone sugest anywhere, im in wiltshire, so south-west upto bristol is where im looking.

cheers

For that sort of money you may as well find a good AAZ and put that in.

Look for Seat Toledos and Passats in AutoTrader and similar.

yeah thats what i was thinking, but, with a rebuild, At least i know it will be reliable, There was a AAZ down the scrapper I went and seen, 100k miles, but couldnt hear it running, and that seems the case with a few round here.

Also not having lots of experince with diesels, i could easily pick up a duffer, or after maybe 20k have to fork out for a rebuild etc on it.

Think i need more quotes. I just want something a little reliable so i dont have to spend another winter in the garage freezing cold.

I guess you pays your money you take your choice..
