tailgate

Post by colynmac »

Does anyone know if the tailgate locking/slamming mechanism is adjustable?

Mine is a bit hit and miss whether it closes tight first time or not.

I have tried shifting the srews on the baseplate but they do not want to know.

Maybe that it, it sometimes doesn't work, but lately its been fine, I think the rubber bit on the strike plate is a bit knackered to so maybe need to replace that.
Is it wearing out on yours Colynmac?

Isn't the rubber in the lock mechanism, at the back of the slot? I had this on both my front doors and adjustment of the rubber and suitable grease on the moving bits fixed it up just fine.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Yes mine does have a rubber on the striker plate, and yes it's all greased up.

I think its brute force time with the impact wrench to get it moving.
