Black Smoke

Post by marcawalker »

Was travelling back from Devon last week and after doing about 100 miles fine the exhaust started blowing out black smoke for the remainder of the journey.

Since being home ive checked the oil and it all looks fine and has been driving as normal again. Im just a bit worried and want to get it sorted before i go away again in may. Could it need a new air filter?

thanks

Black smoke = pumping too much fuel into cylinders = injectors or fuel pump calibration?

You could also check your air cleaner element / intake system.
