I noticed lately that i've had to top up the expansion tank so i got under to have a look and there is a slight weep of coolant from the offside headgasket at the bottom, it appears that they have been changed at some stage because they are the 'rubber' looking ones, also there is a small oil leak from one of the pushrod tubes, these are the 'expandable' ones by the look of it.
Now for the question........ is the head gasket about to go completely and i need to fix it as a matter of urgency or in people's opinion has anyone experienced these 'weeps' to go on for some time? the reason for asking is we're off to cornwall in two weeks and if i start delving into head gaskets and i come across broken head bolts and need a new engine then i clearly won't get it done in time for my hols. There doesn't seem to be any water making it's way into the oil and there seems to be no loss in performance so is it possible that it is just leaking 'externally' if there is such a thing.

They can weep for a few thou miles-but they can let go at anytime--Id go fer yer hols-but make sure yoove got breakdown/recovery insurance--the gaskets have always been thick rubber-so could be original--if its the original engine-I'd have yer hols then get a recon--not worth messin about strippin it down--
