mot failure........

Failed on lower ball joint, apparently they do a lift test on them now, and there was to much.

Headlights being lhd.(square)
They said once registered in the uk you have one mot which you can mask, then they must be replaced. and as the MOT is computerised they cant let you get away with it anymore. ( old UK ones going back on for a week...)

leaky fuel pipes from tank, easy....

and no foglight

thats jed's fault. I cut it off because it anoyed him whilst he was following me.......

Any tips for removing the lower ball joint would be great, as it looks like its a bit of a pain to remove.

The ball joints have been tested like that as long as they have been mot items (way before my time).

Headlights can be masked every year there is no time limit.

I don't think i would want that garage any where near one of my vehicles, a*** and elbow spring to mind.

Thing is, this is a quite well known garage (they are a little pickie though).
As for the ball joint,
I did not realise they lifted them, thought they just gave em a shake.

As I have already paid my fee, and considering the price to put things right I'll just swap the lights for the MOT.

The main thing worrying me is the bottom ball joint.
I have a new one here but am worried that I wont be able to remove the old one without the special presses. has anybody changed one....

Done several, including one at the side of the road, would have been ok if one of the bolts had not sheared! Managed to drill it out. all you need is a decent knuckle breaker or a big hammer to release the taper (Be careful though)

Had mine mot'd if Feb they didnt even spot the totally rotted seat belt mount on the passenger side had my missus and kids sitting in that seat dread to think wot would of happened in an accident

Do I need to completley remove the stub axel to do this.
ie, top balljoint, tie rod end, caliper, back plate.

If it was less than 3 months ago appeal and drop them in the "pooh"

I know wot you mean but wot are the comebacks on dropping them in the pooh i have always used the garage for my mot's not just me vans me cars aswell

I know what you mean but think what would of happened in a crash because of there slap dash testing, its testers like these that get us all a bad name.
