Goerge Has Left The Drive

Post by blurb55 »

OK bus gone into see bus doctor. All good news except the exhaust is throroughly intercoursed.

Have been quoted £218 by GSF and some one on here suggested a stainless model for over £400.

Cash very tight at the mo having spent way too much on the new pop top tent/overhaul to get towards MOT.

So is £218 about right for a 1987 T25 Westy Vanagon inport from California?

Are there other places I can seek out prices? Any advice/help etc appreciated.

A couple of hundred quid for an exhaust to fit a 1.9 or a 2.1 petrol would be pretty cheap...... just don't expect it to last very long - cheap steel = rust.

Still Syncro, just much fasterer

Cheers DH, kinda in the rock and hard place conundrum. Would love a "lifetime" s/steel exhaust but the budget won't stretch that far and get George back on the road so it will have to be seen as a medium term option - I wanna get out there to meets & camps this summer so there has to be a compromise.

Will go and get the plastic ready for another hit then.

If its a US import you may have to have a lambada probe fitting welded in--or am I wrong?--

Oh you are so right - been warned about this little beauty. Fortunately the garage also know about them.

Quick question - do I have to keep this?
