I used the original ones as a pattern for the new...they became the lining - ie just sewed new material around them. Used the exisiting header tape, and attached the new material just below it. Hemmed it up and they look pretty good!

Very posh, two tone, lined curtains.
Also a teeny tiny bit warmer....

I don't have curtains either, but in the last van I had the nice side to the inside, I want to see the pretty stuff.

But but..if your house was lovely to behold you wouldn't go spoiling it by having something shocking hanging in the window just because most of the time you would be inside not looking out!?!?

Have have some ace material for my curtains but it so wont go with the interior trim, I was going to put it to the outside and keep my light grey cutrtains facing in as they are calm and make the van feel light and airy.

We need our own van makover experts!!

we bought cheap ikea curtains in the sale that kind of matched our lovely brown devon interior.. burnt orange on the inside & a red brown with slight pattern facing outwards. My mates mum made them by copying the old ones and we gave her 400 fags & a bottle of chablis (duty free of course). We were all happy & it cost us about 65 quid. Shame about the bronchitis though

We bought cheap Dunelm fabric, and the woman up the road made them up in return for us moving two beds for her - both beds fit in at one go, so it took less than an hour - took her three days to make the curtains......

I've got " does absolutely nothing to keep the light out" Westy curtains...... :(

So I was thinking of backing them with some nice materiel to personalise it, with the posh stuff facing outside but then with it being a Westy, for re-sale value and general boring Westy appeal, I think I should just stick to putting blackout lining on them.

Kinda makes you want to buy a van that doesn't have a "Label" so you can do whatever personalising you want to do without affecting the "Look" of it...........hmmmmmmmm.....thinking now

Made curtains for the white one didn't like them, let in to much light now got a full set of silver screens no light and keeps the van cool in summer and warmer in winter. :D
