MOT failure

Hello there
Not very mechanicaly minded so looking for help. my van has just failed on the following.

offside front front suspension joint has excessive play in a upper suspension ball joint..

have got a mate who can fix byt need to know if i need new parts for this and if so what ..?

Yes...as long as your van was made between 1979 and 1991
