Big lumps of metals and spanners.

Overdue 60,000 service + mileometer + good NW garages?

Post by stevewright76 »

I've noticed that the mileometer in my van is a little under-exuberant, it records almost exactly 2/3rds of the real mileage (e.g. this weekends trip to scotland it recorded 120miles to stirling from Lancaster, actual mileage 177 miles)

Of course this is a bonus for insurance etc. however means that the 50,000 on the clock may be nearer 75,000 - and I'm overdue a 60,000 service by a little way.

Anyone know a good air-cooled specialist in the north west.

I have a 60,000 check-list (cam belt is top prioprity I guess, BUT I SHOULDN'T BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE ONE AND I SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED THAT BEFORE POSTING MY IDIOCY FOR THE WHOLE FORUMS TO SEE,) given that slip of the brain and obvious idiocy ANY advice welcome!

MSC?

Post by stevewright76 »

Thanks for list of garages, and appologies for sounding like complete clueless tw*t for a second re: cam belt, no excuse is there?

MSC = Motor Service Centre, thanks loads for link/lead (was getting a blank from MSC Barrow, too many people with masters degrees now!)

So, what DOES need doing at 60k? Van has been regularly serviced so is it just annual, or time for a full check?

Steve
